You are so very welcome here.
The name is a bit tongue-in-cheek, but Anna Best takes her work very seriously.

All of our appointments are based on “hands-on” time, meaning you can take your time discussing your needs with Anna, not worrying that you are missing out on your massage. With us, 90-minutes means 90-minutes on the table, so plan to spend a little extra time and relax into your recovery.

Enhancements
-
Hot Stones
Skin, muscle, and fascia soften under heat and pressure. We cup the stones in the palm of our hands as we massage. Cold stones also available upon request.
+$15
-
Scraping
Evolved from gua sha, this instrument assisted soft tissue manipulation (IASTM) uses specialized tools in direct, compressive friction strokes. It encourages breakdown of adhesions at the cellular level and kickstarts the repair process.
+$15
-
Cupping
Creating a gentle vacuum on the skin encourages circulation and stimulates the repair process. Light pressure is used for moving cups across the skin. Increased pressure is used when we allow cups to linger on problem areas.

Add a Nap
Don’t feel like getting up afterwards? Then don’t. Schedule some rest to allow the benefits of your massage to sink in. You’ll be left alone until your time is up.

About Anna Best
When you feel better, you can be better — kinder, stronger,
more resilient.
My mission is to look below the surface, find problems, and promote healing. Through my diverse professional tapestry, that is the connecting thread. I want to understand, so that I can protect natural systems.
As a kid, I peeked under logs to catch critters. As a geologist, I read the layers of rocks to understand their history and protect the Earth’s natural systems. As an environmental scientist, I tested water and soil to treat contamination and protect public health. As a landscape designer, I analyzed each site to find the most ecologically sound way to enhance its beauty as a human habitat supporting wildlife. As an ecological restoration designer, I analyzed failing streams and wetlands to rebuild stable, healthy stream, wetland, and forest habitats.
At age 40, I felt called to leap into massage therapy—a different field entirely—but my mission was my anchor. Look below the surface, protect what’s working well, find the source of problems, promote healing, and support healthy living.
As a massage therapist, I look deeply at each person’s body to understand problematic patterns, and help the body heal itself. I identify problems like pain, weakness, limited range of motion, injuries, and scar tissue. Then I treat the body’s soft tissues to address the source of the problem, reduce discomfort and improve quality of life.
